about myself
I'm a freelance photographer who you might see driving in a jeep on a dusty mountain road or maybe just sitting quietly on an early morning street...
Artist Statement
My images are meant to challenge you to look closer as to what’s outside, inside or to participate in the story being told by the photograph. I look for quiet mornings, still surroundings, and portraits of people bonding with their animals. Using a mix of color, black & white, contrasts, shadows, and highlights I begin to tell my stories. With color, I can bring out the natural beauty of nature whereas black & white brings out the drama and emotion from contrasting elements.
When I see a composition, I’m inspired by the mix of colors, textures and how well the subject is contrasted from the background. All this comes to play during post-processing when I work with the image to bring out the hidden beauty or drama in the frame.
Something about me
Prescott based photographer; I’ve been honing my skills as a photographer for the past 5 years. Originally a project manager on what were some of the largest windfarms in the United States, I left construction to pursue a passion in photography.
Currently working part-time for a local retailer, photographing their product line and updating the company website. My photography has been displayed in two local art galleries and a local bakery. With three first-place awards in juried art gallery exhibits.
To follow my passion for photography, I’ve attended a three-day workshop working with horses and models, attended webinars for landscape, Black and White photography and, took photography classes at a local college. My travels include Italy and throughout the mid and southwest states, photographing scenes of the present and past. I have a great love of animals and often seen taking shots of people with their pets and the amazing wildlife I’ve come across in travels.
